Senior Citizen Health a New Study

In the September 12, 2006 issue of Neurology magazine they published a study the shows a link between early memory loss, to Alzheimer's.

This study states that people over 60 years of age that complain of serve memory problems may actually be suffering from brain tissue loss. These same people are able to score well on all the standard memory tests. After conducting MRI's on them it was found that they suffered from approximately 3% brain tissue loss.

Mild cognitive impairment, otherwise known as early Alzheimer's, patients suffer from approximately 4% brain tissue loss.

Both brain tissue losses are in the area which effects memory. This seems the link the two together. Senior citizen health is something to constantly be watched, so if you or anyone you know suffers from memory loss it might be time to get it checked out.
