Senior Health Care Premiums to Increase for Higher Incomes

Beginning in 2008, Medicare beneficiaries who earn more money will pay higher premiums for their Medical Part B coverage. A provision of the 2003 Medicare Modernization Act calls for a change in the formula for assessing Part B premiums.
The Part B premium has been based on Medicare covering 75% of the premium cost and the beneficiary paying for 25%. With the changes, higher income beneficiaries will pay a higher percentage of premium costs. Please pay attention for more news regarding this matter.

It's a shame that people are continuing to allow Medicare and the private healthcare industry to strip us of our care and take our money while they get rich. It's becoming more than a little ridiculous. As such, I think everyone should check out the new AARP petition, available at www.thisissoridiculous.com. This is a great resource for us to get our voices heard and to try and get some things changed. I am working to support this with them because I think there's still more that can be done to help reform the cold health care industry.
